An assistant you own, built in Kuwait.
Kazma is an open-source AI assistant designed and built by Mubder Alfaris, an independent engineer in Kuwait. It runs its author's own assistant every day — many of its fixes were found there, and the changelog says so.
What we hold to
You own it
It runs on your machine under the MIT license. Your chats and memory stay in your install, and go only to the model and services you connect.
It asks first
No write, command or outbound message without your approval, wherever it runs.
It says what it does
Every feature carries its status, known gaps are published with dates, and when a model fails you see ⚠️, not a made-up answer.
Arabic is a first language
Interface, docs and documents in full Arabic, and memory that understands the Gulf dialect.
Where the name comes from
Kazma (كاظمة) was a coastal oasis in Kuwait — a network of freshwater wells and a gateway on the trade routes between civilizations. In 633 CE it was the site of the Battle of Chains, where an army that had chained its ranks into one rigid wall was defeated by adaptive, decentralized manoeuvre.
The architecture borrows the image: deep wells of memory, one gateway to many channels, and decentralized swarms instead of brittle pipelines.

Built alongside Kazma.
These aren't products “powered by” Kazma as a runtime stack — they grew up next to it. Each one taught us something about agents, trust, and real interfaces, and that craft shaped the framework in return.
